Tightening food safety control for holiday market 2007-09-25 10:19  MOFCOM On September 24, Minister Bo Xilai and Vice Mayor of Shanghai Tang Dengjie went on a market inspection tour to a community food market in Xuhui District, Shanghai. The recent moves to ensure pork safety, enlisting the joined efforts of the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, and other related government ministries and bureaus, had achieved their initial goal. Meat markets, pig slaughter enterprises, restaurants, and food retailers were all subject to inspections, and those operating against laws or below standards were shut down.
