In the activity of maintaining the progressiveness of Party members, party organizations at all levels and party members of the Ministry of Commerce insisted to put achievements made in the Activity into work to actively change work style, pay attention to the public and serve grassroots civilian, advocate contribution, keep good enthusiasm, endeavor to realize “no neglect but both promotion” in study and work and enhance the establishment of Party's Governing Capacity in commerce.
Bo Xilai, Secretary of the Party Group of MOFOCM and Minister of Commerce, said when answering questions of reporters that Ministry of Commerce is a department to administrate domestic and international economic cooperation for State Council, covering many areas, with a strong sense of policies, having great tasks and being concerned worldwide. To launch the progressiveness education activity is to keep the requirement of "The Key is to make effect" of President Hu Jintao to carry out progressiveness in specific work so as to be more responsible and efficient to do work, realize the important thought of "Three Represents" in commerce, perform scientific outlook on develop, promote the building of a harmonious society, enhance the establishment of Party's Governing Capacity in commerce and do utmost to be a good aide for the Central Party and State Council.
Since the implementation of global integration of textile trade on Jan. 1, 2005, the Ministry adhered to the request of Central Party and State Council, actively took measures and made efforts to guarantee the steady transition of textile integration. In dealing with textile trade frictions, the Ministry abode by WTO rules, enhanced negotiations, insisted on the principle of maintaining the fundamental interests of our country as usual, strove for more benefits for exporters, positively promoted the structure optimization and long-term development of textile and created favorable international environment for exports.
Mr. Bo Xilai said that issue of "Agriculture, Rural Areas, and Farmer" was the key of our governmental affairs. How to be rich for farmers, for which the Ministry also had obligations. We should do real matters for them to reflect the tent of “serve people” and the progressiveness of our Party.
Bo Xilai said that the Ministry should persist in the tent of “work for the public and assumes power for the people”, positively change the mission of government, promote to govern by laws and to open government affairs and broaden the channel of contacting mass. In the Progressiveness Education Activity, the Ministry stuck to “open and hold education” to deepen investigation and study at multi-layers from multi-channels and heard earnestly of suggestions from all aspects.
He stressed that after the activity, party members and cadres in commerce should be more energetic in future work and believed that the work of commerce would be expected more prosperous.
