Minister Bo meets Visiting Mexican Secretary of Economy

Minister Bo held talks with visiting Mexican Secretary of Economy Eduardo Sojo and exchanged opinions on bilateral ties.
　
Mexico was an important trade partner of China in Latin America, said Bo, and Chinese government encouraged enterprises to invest in Mexico and cooperate with Mexican enterprises in fields like textile, agriculture, light industry and fishing. The enterprises of both countries are expected to explore best cooperative patterns and maintain the overall balance and sustained development of bilateral trade.

Bo said that recognizing market economy status is a necessary condition of fair competition. Given China’s successful economic reform, it is fair and advisable to recognize its full market economy status.
　
Eduardo Sojo agreed with Bo in his views on the importance of Sino-Mexico trade and the prospect of bilateral economic cooperation.
　
Bo also clarified China’s attitude towards the issue of product safety. China attached great importance to the quality and safety of exporting products, 99 per cent of which are satisfactory and safe. China called for a rational and unbiased attitude towards Chinese goods, and hoped that false alarms and prejudices wound not affect the healthy development of trade.
