On Dec 22, Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai and Vice Director of National Bureau of Statistics Xu Yifan jointly opened platforms for urban and rural market information service system and "Local Commercial Forecast".
Urban and rural market information service system is a monitoring system set up by such modern information technology as internet and engages with platforms of ministry of commerce, provincial, municipal and county administrative departments of commerce. The system consists of indicator, collection, storage, analysis, issue and control, which reflect changing trend of industry, enterprise, price of commodity, sales and storage, furthermore reflect developing rules of investment and consumption and make judgment on economic operation.
Minister Bo expressed that it was an important responsibility that State Council endowed to MOFCOM on monitoring, analyzing and alarming market operation and supply and demand of commodity. It was a key measure for MOFCOM implementing and fulfilling economic work conference spirit of Central Committee, as well as key content for MOFCOM transferring governmental function, strengthening public service and implementing transparent obligation. MOFCOM possessed responsibility and obligation to provide prompt, precise and comprehensive producing and living information for thousands of shops and peoples, so as to realize information share for all departments of commerce and improve public service ability.
Minister Bo said weather closely related with and concerned by thousands of peoples, and commercial activities was as important as weather.It changed every time to follow its own rules. To carry out commercial activities, build up and improve domestic unified market, market information should be closely tracked, promptly inspected and precisely forecasted, so as to learn about the changes and grasp the rules. Modern information technology development created situations for us to realize the above purpose.
Minister Bo expected that China's administrations of commerce could jointly make effort, improve information collection ability, market analyzing ability, decision supporting ability, public service ability and market controlling ability. Meanwhile information service system should be continuously improved and perfected to better serve for public and enterprises, promote better and fast national economic development as well.
Director Xu expressed that MOFCOM build up urban and rural market information service system with broad coverage and fast reaction, and expanded work on statistics within only 2 years which in turn played an active role in national macro control and market resource allocation. The creative work transferred statistics and inspecting result promptly into usable market information which represented spirit and ability of MOFCOM on public service.
Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Zengwei, Assistant Minister Fu Ziying and Huang Hai attended the opening ceremony.
